Photographing newborns is an art form, and to be successful you need the right equipment. But what are the best newborn photography lenses?

There are many macro lenses on the market, but the best canon macro lens for newborn photography is the 100mm f2.8L Macro. It’s small, light, and produces great images with shallow depth-of-field.
Keep in mind because it’s 100mm it will get VERY close details and if you do want wider angle shots of the baby you’ll almost certainly need to change lenses.
If you are a professional newborn photographer, then this newborn photography lens will be a great addition to your equipment because it has low distortion and makes newborn photography easier.
They also have Canon 50mm f1.4, Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM. These lenses are suitable for newborn photography because they produce a beautiful bokeh effect in the background of the image. They are all very fast lenses which will help with newborn photography because you’ll get a VERY shallow depth of field (aka, a very blurry background)
The Nikon lens is also lightweight making it easy to carry around but they also come with a hefty price tag for what you’re getting.
A macro lens is perfect for newborn photography because newborns are so small that you need to get them REALLY close to the camera. If you use a long telephoto lens, it might not be so easy to get them in focus.
When searching for the best place to have a newborn baby photoshoot, it can be difficult to find the perfect location. Finding a location that is both safe and convenient in order to accommodate newborns, parents and photographers is key.
There are many places where newborn photoshoots are available, but most newborn photographers recommend finding a location with bright natural light, which is often found near a window.
Newborn photography is a wonderful way to document any newborn as they grow up. If you have newborns in your life, why not document their journey through newborn photography?
When photographing newborns, it’s important to make them feel comfortable as you work with them. As much as possible, newborns should not be disturbed by the photographer. You should try to keep their distance from the newborn and he or she should explain what needs to happen once the photo is taken. If the newborn baby does start crying while being photographed take a break and try again later.
Remember, when doing a newborn photography shoot, be patient.
